I'm running with a very recent CVS.

KDM starts fine, and displays as it should. When I log in from KDM though, I 
get 2 xwarning windows stating "Cannot start kdeinit - check your 
installation", and "Cannot start ksmserver - check your installation".

/usr/bin/kde is a symlink to /usr/local/kde/bin/startkde

I can start KDE fine from startx, everything works properly.

I've even had KDM working on this machine previously.

The last thing I noted was that KDM looked a whole lot different than it 
normally does. Instead of the usual Icon group box thing to select your user, 
I was presented with a customized list box of users on the left.
