don't hold your breath, they (Xfree) are not going to make it, and the code
is far too complex for a simple hack.
i'll be happy if they fix the bug that causes the current behavior (actually
i had an error in my analysis - it's not only more latency to motion events,
some events are simple droped)

b.t.w. - i think gtk 2.0 goes for more backbuffering and less overhead in
expose events. can we talk someone in trolltech to implement backbuffering
as a pixmap for qt (and eliminate ALL expose events) - after all, memory is
cheap...
