I've tried, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet (i.e.
konqueror can't browse https://), but I'll keep trying.  I haven't
seen the kate crash though.

I haven't tried it in quite some time.  Last time I did, it didn't
like the fact that I wasn't using gcc so I had a hard time using it.
I've heard that's fixed now though?
