have you tried using the templated init method, something along the lines of:

typedef KGenericFactory<KlineakControl, QWidget > KlineakFactory;
K_EXPORT_COMPONENT_FACTORY (kcm_klineakcontrol, 
KlineakFactory("kcmklineakcontrol") );

(there are examples in kdebase/kcontrol that use this, which i believe is now 
the preferred method?)
