from a privacy standpoint: if implementing this please ensure that the note 
writer can't use the desktop's clipboard facilities otherwise someone can go 
to a locked system, "leave a note" and hit ctrl-v or press the MMB to see 
what's in the clipboard. or, more as an annoyance, hit ctrl-c or highlight 
some text to overwrite what is currently in the clipboard.
