 I use srcdir != buildidr too.  Before committing I ran make -f 
Makefile.cvs, configure, and make, and it all worked.

> /bin/sh: cd: kdesavers: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

Now I try again, removing the builddir first, and it *still* worked:

Making all in kscreensaver
make[2]: Entering directory 
`/home/neil/programming/kde/build/kdeartwork/kscreensaver'
Making all in kdesavers
make[3]: Entering directory 
`/home/neil/programming/kde/build/kdeartwork/kscreensaver/kdesavers'
/opt/qt/bin/moc ../../../../kdeartwork/kscreensaver/kdesavers/banner.h -o 
banner.moc

and it continues to build.
