You could check with QT's example program qfd, if you have the same problem  
only in QT.

If you can reproduce the problme with QT alone, then I suppose that you will 
have to write to QT Bugs: mailto:qt-bugs@trolltech.com

However, before reporting the bug to Trolltech, you should try to find out if 
your TrueType fonts really contain the characters. If I remember well, fonts 
that declare themselves as ISO-10646-1 (Unicode), therefore also any TrueType 
fonts, these fonts are used as is and are not "cobbled" like other fonts 
(what you will have for your bitmap and type 1 fonts.)

However, I do not know if OpenOffice uses also the fonts as is or if it 
"cobbles" them, even perhaps TrueType fonts.
