Hi All, Every once in a while it happens that somebody flames kde development, for that it is open source and bazaar-style, that his/her's bugs are not resolved, etc. Well, I have a nice story to share: the bank which issued my debit card has been rounding up the exchange rate (USD to PLZ) to the next highest integer PLZ since about two weeks. An obvious software bug. An easy fix in bazaar style programming would require possibly a 300 byte .patch file posted to the list, and those urgently affected would be able to patch their sources and recompile quickly. Judging from my statements, they needed nearly two weeks to fix that -- the "fixup" transactions were recorded today. I wonder how long [how many angry customer calls] it took them to realize something was amiss. And it was a damned C one-liner (or something else -- big and gross, if it wasn't a one liner). I like kde development style all right, thanks! Cheers, Kuba Ober >> Visit http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-devel#unsub to unsubscribe <<
