Ah, so there are other people who have this problem. I have the same, but=
 only=20
kmail, opengl apps and some frew html pages with forms in konqueror seem =
to=20
trigger it.

Same here. If I telnet into the machine, I can see that all apps are stil=
l=20
running. Just X is frozen. If I try to kill X, the whole system freezes.

I'm using XFree from CVS, some short time after the 4.2 release. It seems=
 to=20
have started for me when I moved from a Pentium II to an Athlon machine.

might be a driver problem. I have an nvidia geforce2 mx 400 card with nvi=
dia's=20
driver (not the one that's part of XFree86).
