Well, as I said, I can't reproduce the problems. So  I guess it doesn't 
really help when I say what I did. But if you want to know what happened with 
artsd : I did a KRun (KDE2.2 libs ) of an mp3 file, which plays the mp3 with 
xmms
If you can do something with a core, tell me and I can send it to you. (2Mb)
