this morning i got the latest code from cvsup.kde.org, and arts won't 
configure; make -f Makefile.cvs explodes with this:

./Makefile.am:31: required directory ./libltdl does not exist
make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
dep@depoffice:~/kde3/arts >
