Hear, hear! I'm using KDE and I'm greatly looking forward to the clipboard
issuing getting better in 3.0... I've only come to use KDE within the last
year and this has definitely been a distinct akwardness in my KDE UI
experiences. (But I can understand how, if you "grew up" with it you're
probably used to it. I've used many different OSes as my primary OS and it
is not until you get extremely comfortable with one UI and then switch to
another, that you realize how you can become attached to the "local
traditions.")
So, it kills me that selecting _sometimes_ makes my clipboard change --
especially when I want to paste into a field that already has contents that
need to be replaced (which feels like 95% of the time). When I first started
using KDE, I was really puzzled as to why Konq had the strange button that
cleared the URL field... now I understand why.
I wish I had time to update to the beta of KDE. I'm definitely looking
forward to the new clipboard features.
