You can copy the color settings from kdeglobals over to kmailrc including=
=20
alternateBackgroundColor and then change them as how you want to have the=
m.=20
That way they will only apply to kmail.

If you send a bugreport detailing which elements exactly don't work well =
wih=20
inverted colorschemes, then someone might be able to fix it.
