X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kde-devel&m=101283843919857 Thank you very much for responding. I will try this. I am interested in writing my own documentation in the style of KDE Documentation. I am assuming when you say "writing KDE Documention" below that really just represents a set of Stylesheets, DTDs, etc. Is this correct? Can you tell me how does meinproc differ from the other tools I have seen mentioned, jw, docbook2html, etc.? Is meinproc written explicilty for 'KDE documentation' using XML files and the other tools (docbook2html) assumes an SGML DocBook file? The reason I want to get docbook working is to document other programming details I have figured out for Linux to save other programmers time (Details related to creating and using I/O Slaves, Fixes to installation bugs, etc) Thanks again, Ben Schepens schepens@mindspring.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lauri Watts" To: Sent: Sunday, February 03, 2002 4:19 PM Subject: Re: DocBook SGML vs DocBook XML --- WTF!?!?! Are you writing KDE based documentation? If so, you have all the tools you need in kdelibs 2.2.1 or better. Use the template in kdelibs/kdoctools/template.docbook to start your document. Use checkXML (installed from kdelibs) to check your document is valid. Use meinproc (also from kdelibs) to generate html files for use in khelpcenter. These tools depend on libxml2, and libxslt, and nothing else. If you have working help in KHelpCenter, then you must have these already.
