Probably.

Switching to a task-based approach sounds a bit strange for experienced 
users, but it is exactly what Microsoft is doing now in XP. And whatever I 
heard or read about XP, some people like it and some people don't, but 
everyone seems to agree that (A) the task-based approach is extremely good 
for novice users and - more surprising - (B) the task-based approach takes a 
short while for experienced users to get comfortable with, but also appears 
to work extremely well, even for experienced people!

So, although it might sound controversial to long-time users, I am all for it 
- when done right it works.
