I think it's good. If you see anything wrong in the above script, let me 
know. I've looked into the problem that is was QT before. If anyone 
wants to suggest a non-kde QT app to test jpeg rendering with, I'll be 
happy to try it out.

I am using the following:

gcc-2.96-98
gcc-c++-2.96-98
make-3.79.1-8
autoconf-2.13-14

I believe they are all up to date.
