The Kernel's GPL has a clause saying that non GPL modules are permitted, so 
there's no incompatibility there.  However, I'll consider GPLing this if the 
Linux Powers that Be want to put it in the kernel source tree.  Although I 
see that as unlikely, since recently, Alan Cox removed the resampling code 
from kernelspace (enforcing 48000 on all user-space apps)
