Wait for 3.0.1, I think we have the right solution for it now. Both Xft and 
xlfd based fonts will be available to Qt applications, so you can choose 
yourself.

Even when using Xft, you can turn antialiasing of by default, and then Xft 
should be as fast as old xlfd fonts.
