I am trying to compile KDE (once again).. I grabbed qt3 from Trolltech
directly, compiled it and disabled opengl (that's the only way I know to
get it to compile under FreeBSD). I then proceeded to compile kdesupport
(not needed yet) and kdelibs.
$ ./configure --with-extra-libs=/usr/local/lib \
--disable-cups --disable-threading
It insisted that I did not have CUPS. Well, I do. I did add
--with-extra-libs=/usr/local/lib , where libjpeg and libcups reside. It
for some reason decided to accept the libjpeg and not see cups.
Everything else seems fine. I had to disable threading or else it will
not compile. Well, it doesn't compile either way, but it will fail the
configure test.
After it was all set, I did a `gmake', and it crunched on for awhile and
then spat out this:
------------
c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I../dcop -I../libltdl -I../kdecore
-I../kdeui -I../kssl -I/usr/local/qt/include -I/usr/X11R6/include
-I/usr/local/kde/include -D_THREAD_SAFE -I/usr/local/include -O2
-fno-exceptions -fno-check-new -ftemplate-depth-99 -DQT_NO_TRANSLATION
-DQT_CLEAN_NAMESPACE -DQT_NO_ASCII_CAST -DQT_NO_COMPAT
-Wp,-MD,.deps/ustring.pp -c ustring.cpp -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/ustring.o

I appreciate your help.
