Yeah. IMHO debian is the perfect distribution for development. I also 
switched from suse to debian (one year ago). Currently I have debian/unstable 
installed.

I have lots of questions :-)  And I will ask them. But for now I'm going to 
download the 2.2.1 sources and play a little bit with them. Thanks for your 
helpful and motivating e-mail.
