I'm not sure I'm up to date with all those issues, but AFAIK we wanted to 
have a generic MDI library for KDE3, that allows different kind of MDI modes.
There is QextMDI, which does that already, AFAIK, but I'm not sure in which 
way it interacts with KDockWidget and friends, which may or may not all be 
kept for KDE3.

Anyway, Falk Brettschneider and Josepf Wenninger would be the ones to talk 
about that. Both said, they don't have much time at the moment, so your help 
would be much appreciated.
