Hello list,

The Kalyxo project is slowly growing... and needs to have its real name used.
The kde-debian and kde-debian-devel lists were a kind of temporary solution,
and were named this way because of the original group code-name "kde-debian".

If we want to grow correctly, we have to change some things coming from the
project history. Hence, the name of this mailing list is not relevant
anymore.

Moreover, even if it's currently low traffic, we've seen that most of the
mails coming here should be sent to @debian.org lists. Let's face it the
kde-debian name is really confusing for a non trivial amount of users, and
it's really understandable.

That's why we've opened new mailing lists, and the current ones will be closed
in 12 weeks from now (around the 25th of December).

Of course we won't let the current subscribers alone and lost in the myriads
of existing mailing lists. So here are my advices:

-------
1) If you are a user interested in KDE packages maintained inside Debian (in
general kdelibs, kdebase, kdepim, kdenetwork...), you should subscribe to
this list: http://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/
You'll be at the right place and have a better support than from us, since
we're not the maintainers of those packages.

2) If you are a user interested in the Kalyxo project or using some of the
packages we make, you should subscribe to this list:
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kalyxo
For our package list please look at these pages:
http://www.kalyxo.org/bin/view/Main/KalyxoPackages
http://www.kalyxo.org/debian/

Please note that we package the NX technology for Debian but we're _not_ the
NX/FreeNX/kNX developers. If you need to reach the FreeNX and kNX developers
you should subscribe to this list too:
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/freenx-knx

3) If you are a Kalyxo developer (you have packaged something currently in our
staging archive or contributed code), you should subscribe to this list:
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kalyxo-devel

If you want to become a Kalyxo developer by contributing more interesting KDE
related packages to our list or by working on our upcoming Debian flavor
(installer, security fixes, maintaining the website) the previous list apply
to you and you should subscribe to help us.

Moreover you will find a list of tasks for the Kalyxo project here:
http://www.kalyxo.org/bin/view/Main/TaskList

Of course, for developers subscribing to this list is strongly encouraged too:
https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kalyxo
Our users will need support! ;-)
-------

I'll try to send regularly reminders of this planned closing. You can already
subscribe to the brand new kalyxo and kalyxo-devel lists. Of course, all the
Kalyxo traffic will occur on the new lists now, but I'll try to forward the
important announces here.

If you have more questions feel free to ask, I'll be glad to answer you.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding.

Regards.
