It's a big advantage here to be able to have different frontends... I've 
watched Simon's work with great interest and IMHO the frontend/backend split 
is the main lack of his tools...
On the usability front I really don't know which one is better... but Simon, 
yours look very promising! ;-)

AFAIK the source is already released... and for a long time... It was not GPL 
but the source was available.
After a quick search on Suse's FTP, I've found this :
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.0/suse/src/yast2*

It seems to be what we are looking for...
If somebody wants to look at it! ;-) I'm planning to do it myself in a near 
future possibly this week-end... for now I'm going back to my exams! ;-)
