Hello! I'm starting to like more and more the idea of Morphix. I hope that you would consider developing live-cd's in the future based on the modular structure of Morhpix. We should use it because: -we can concentrate on developing KDE-stuff, while using autodetection from Morphix -when Morphix-people upgrade autodetection, it can be integrated to our live-CD with ease (because of the modular system) -the modular system allows also people like me to do localizations for special geographical areas with ease, since I make a localization module, the main project supplies KDE and Morphix supplies the debian-base. -Morphix also has complete installation apps (though they are written in GTK+) Here is some news of Morphix development: (it is very good though it is still in the 0.x-series - they just have very high quality standards) ---------- Uudelleen lähetetty viesti ---------- Subject: [Morphix-devel] 0.4-1c available, status update Date: Tiistai 27. Tammikuuta 2004 18:22 From: Alex de Landgraaf To: Morphix-devel Hey list, 0.4-1c is available on sf.net [1], with a few interesting additions (grub to replace syslinux, usb booting). You know the drill, check it out and find out what's broken. For more details, see the changelog [2]. If anyone wants the kernel source, just let me know. Currently I'm working on better integration (well, integration, as there wasn't any before) between minimodules and dpkg/apt-get's database. Besides that, grub integration in the installer is one of the last remaining issues. Does anyone know of a way to autogenerate a menu.lst to display other operating systems? genliloconf works, but is such a mess that I'd rather not try to convert it to make grub menu's. Other than that, I'm open for new splashscreens for grub. See the one in the new boot.img as a starting point, 14-color xpm's are preferable. New ideas for the grub menu on the boot.img are welcome! And before I forget it, if I hadn't mentioned it before, Xconf is available in CVS and as Deb from http://am.xs4all.nl/morphix/debs I'm still working on a mirror, as this is on my measly adsl line, already got a few offers.
