I changed my configure to a -debug to track down the seg fault, now I get some 
linking errors.

I thought, great, now I have to post to the list saying I do NOT have it 
compiled and linked. I did a make clean, ./configure <options> -debug, make 
and still get the link errors.

SO, I did a make clean, ./configure <options> -release, make, and everything 
links fine. 

Grr!

I'll track down the -debug vs -release issue before I check it in.
