Subject: ...Attach failed Could not open network ...

  Hello,
      I'm on a Win2k... I got these errors:

  kdeinit: launch -> dcopserver --nosid
  kdeinit: Launched DCOPServer, pid = 1340 result = 0
_KDE_IceTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.ICE-unix should be set to root
iceauth: creating new authority file /home/mike/.ICEauthority
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
  DCOPServer self-test failed.
DCOPClient::attachInternal. Attach failed Could not open network socket
kdeinit: DCOPServer could not be started, aborting.

Yes, I realize that they are the same as in the FAQ, but when I went to
change the value in the registry like it said, nothing occured. The things
I've tried,
Created a new DWORD (that allows hex/dec values)
Gave the "mounts v2" directory the value of 10
Gave the "mounts v2" directory the value of 0x0a

So my question is, after preforming one of these actions, do I need to
reinstall all of cygwin (like have that value set before I install anything
at all)
  No
or what? Any help would be much appreciated.
          Mike
  Try
  $mount

to verify that all mounts are in binmode. Let us know if it so and if the
problems remain.
  Ralf
