We already depend on it. But it's nonsense to ship all our dependencies.
What's wrong with simply saying "hey, you need this" to the user who runs
./configure?

qt-copy is provided in CVS for convenience, but we do not release Qt as part
of KDE. Same for libpcre, OpenSSL, libstdc++, an operating system kernel..

If you compile KDE, you can download that extra dependency and install it.

If you use binaries, then your distribution should provide the necessary
dependencies. If the packager at Red Hat notices that KDE requires
libaudiofile, then he will most likely make sure a RPM for libaudiofile is
available, no?
