Binary compatibility means that a program compiled against KDE 2.x will be 
able to run against KDE 2.y as well, with y>= x.

What I said was that you can't _RUN_ some programs linked against KDE 2.x and 
some programs linked against KDE 2.y. You will need to use _one_ set of 
libraries at runtime. Whether they were compiled with the same version is not 
an issue.
