Huh? I'm =not= using a very old version of the software! I used a brand new
version when I wrote the bug report and I'm using a brand new version right
now. It's just that the bug report hasn't been dealt with during the last
eight months!

So it would be a good idea to change that standard reply
text to something like:

"The version of the software you are referring
to is now obsolete. Could you please verify the bug with a recent version
and re-open the bug report if it still exists ..."
