Hiya, Based on the feedback that I received I would like to propose the following adjusted schedule for KDE 2.2. The first event is planned for April 9th when we start a short temporary freeze to deliver KDE 2.2Alpha1. It has been named 'Alpha' instead of 'Beta' to indicate that this is still pretty much a work in progress. This release is important because it allows us to collect valuable feedback on new technologies in KDE such as IMAP, IPv6 and the new printing framework. The web-version of this proposal can be found on http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/kde-2.2-release-plan.html ------ The following is the outline for our KDE 2.2 release schedule. The 2.2 release, unlike the 2.1.1 release, will come with new functionality and improvements in many areas of KDE. We aim for the following improvements among others: Better printing framework IMAP support in kmail Improved database support with kdedb All dates given here are subject to revision, but we will try out best to stick to them if possible. Waldo Bastian is acting as release coordinator for the 2.2 releases. KOffice 1.1 will be released independent from KDE 2.2. The KOffice 1.1 release schedule can be found on http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/koffice-1.1-release-plan.html KDE 2.2 Alpha 1 ============ Monday April 9 The HEAD branch is temporary frozen : bugfix commits only Friday April 13 Tarballs are made out of the HEAD of CVS, for KDE 2.2 Alpha 1 .
