Well, that's because extensions are not important ;-)
The file providing the image is called conicplanet.cgi

I suppose konqy could change the extension to the default provided by the
mimetype, but that would suck when you store your files without
extensions, wouldn't it?

I just saved this with .cgi extension, and everything worked wonderfully
