Ah no, you can't just say that "email" is the English term. It's a very
new concept, and thus there's no "standard" word. I agree with you in that
I'd also write "E-Mail" in German, but in English I would probably _talk_
about "mail" (without an [Ee]{-}). 

I'm not quite sure what would be the best version to use in writing,
though I remember Wired having a policy of using "e-mail" (since a few
months ago).
