Hi Matthias,
Tried KDE-2. Some interesting new features. Nice.
But, what happend to the key based navigation through virtual desktops?
There is only [left] and [right], no more [up] and [down] possible. If
the desktops are stacked in a bar big enouhg ofr stacking, it should be
possible to move up and down. Very handy for programming:
+-----+-------+-------+-------+----
| One | XTerm | XTerm | XTerm | ...
+-----+-------+-------+-------+----
| Two | Emacs | Emacs | Emacs | ...
+-----+-------+-------+-------+----
Each emacs holds a .hpp and a .cpp (header and source) of one module.
Xterms have a 'make' callable with [up] (tcsh, bash).
So [up] and [down] are a must to navigate through desktops is a must.
Maybe there isn't even a special condition to program if the panel can
only hold a single line of desktops. No up/down neighbors defined, or
each desktop is it's own up/down neighbor.
Else KDE-2 is very intersting. Maybe some starting quirks, but I guess
there are a couple of lines of code that are still to debug.
