Ok, fixed. However, I really wonder why this happens. I added a dependancy
from soundserver_impl.cc to soundserver.h to the Makefile.am, the relevant
section now looks like

soundserver.h: $(top_srcdir)/arts/soundserver/soundserver.idl kmedia2.h $(MCOPIDL)
    $(MCOPIDL) $(MCOPINC) $(top_srcdir)/arts/soundserver/soundserver.idl
 
soundserver.cc: soundserver.h
artscat.cc: soundserver.h
artsd.cc: soundserver.h
artsplay.cc: soundserver.h
wavplayobject_impl.cc: soundserver.h
simplesoundserver_impl.cc: soundserver.h
soundserver_impl.cc: soundserver.h                                              

Shouldn't automake be able to figure out that kind of dependancy itself?
