They're in memory. You can set the percentage size of the thumbnail
and also set a limit on the maximum size (this takes precendence).
You can also turn them off entirely of course. There is currently a
tiny delay when minimising very large windows (less than 0.5 seconds)
but I plan to change the way the thumbnails are created to work more
like kpager which should remove this issue.
