OK, it turned out the problem with kcontrol that many people have is KDEDIR set to 1.1.2 and kbuildsycoca finding the wrong Settings group ;( Greetings, Stephan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: Bug#13923: kcontrol receives SIGSEGV in ConfigModuleList::readDesktopEntriesRecursive() Date: Sat, 28 Oct 2000 12:25:16 -0500 (CDT) From: Brian Forney To: Stephan Kulow CC: 13923@bugs.kde.org On Sat, 28 Oct 2000, Stephan Kulow wrote: > Hmm, I guess not. And also take care that KDEHOME isn't set incorrectly Reruning kbuildsycoca after removing the ksyscoca fixed the problem. (I didn't set KDEHOME since it points to $HOME/.kde which is what I want.) Thanks much for you help. I am very happy with KDE2. So much so that I am starting to consider buying an IA32 system with Linux, KDE2, and WINE or VMware and possibily abandoning plans to upgrade my Mac. (Although Aqua is pretty darn cool and Mach is arguably more mature than Linux. :) Thanks, Brian ----- www.cs.wisc.edu/~bforney
