Not just that your patch is very bash centric and doesn't honour a non-set KDEHOME, it also simply greps for Language line_s_. There could be more than one and your patch doesn't care for the group. Beside these technical problems I also don't really like that KDE sets my LANG. While I very much prefer a german GUI, I still don't like if make speaks german. That's why I still prefer that I can have KDE language settings and set my LANG in .bashrc if I prefer to have a german bash.
