Let me just say that I run KDE 2 CVS with Slackware 7.0 and an AMD Athlon 
processor, and never shut down my computer nor exit KDE except to restart 
about once a week or so when I cvs update - and never have a single problem.  
Applications such as konqueror crash occasionally, but never KDE.
