I have been using KDE 2.0 as my only DE for a long time now.  Before the 
first beta in fact.  I do a daily cvs update and I build rpms here (they 
create pure packages, removes everyhing that is not in the cvs), and for the 
most part I can compile every time.  Maybe I am just lucky, I am not sure.  I 
do agree that there are several problems lurking around.  But like I said I 
use KDE 2 all the time.   

I have RH 6.2 and XFree86 3.3.6.  

OpenSSL 0.95a
2.2.16

I did have LessTif, but it will not allow me to make an RPM for some reason.  
So I am nsplugin free.
