since doing the netwm stuff for kde2, i figured i'd try out my changes in
the full kde2 environment... unfortunately, i can't get kde2 to start

the kulprit:

kio (KLauncher): KLauncher: Got start_service_by_desktop_name('knotify',
...)
KInit: Got EXEC 'knotify' from klauncher
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: /usr/home/bhughes/kde2/lib/libmcop.so.0: Undefined
sym
bol "__nw__FUiPv"
kdeinit: Pipe closed unexpected.


i get this several times, and apparently dcop/applications block while
waiting for a replay from knotify (which never happens, and there doesn't
seem to be a timeout)

Matthias suggested taking the arts "stuff" out of the startkde script, but
i see nothing in there relating to arts...

so... exactly how do i get kde2 running now? :)
