The problem (according to my tracking down) wasn't Qt, but X. For some
reason, I never got dead-keys to work properly with an active mouse grab.
Minicli in KDE-1.x was a popup window and thus grabbed the mouse. The new
minicli is a managed dialog window, so the problem is gone.
