At least on my system the difference would certainly be noticable. It
would be a great way to start with plain C bindings, though. They are
definitely needed for interoperability with non-C++
applications/scripting languages that want to talk to KDE :)

P.S. Shameless plug: I was surprised to see helixcode using JavaScript.
Gnome users won't be able to enjoy the effects for quite some time. KDE
users can. Try it out ;)
