I _just_ got this.

I rm -rf ed the tree and even make -f Makefile.cvs blows up with a new checkout:

./configure: dnl: command not found
./configure: line 1299: syntax error near unexpected token `(o'
./configure: line 1299: `dnl dependecies between AC_PROG_CPP and AC_PROG_CC (or
is it automake?)'
