Besides the fact that there are still some things that I still do not
like in B2 (mostly the arrows ...) there is especially one thing that
NEEDS
to be fixed if B2 should become the default.
It's not a matter of like or dislike it's rather something technical.
So please try to avoid using the words "I (don't) like" or
"pissed" in your reply ;^)

Unfortunately images/styles show up quite different on different monitors/
printers, etc. To give a good sharp appearance almost all professional
done widgets use ALL shades of grey from black to white (with
black and white being included) in every widget-element
(look at the QT-styles for reference).

If you look at mosfets current B2-Theme you'll notice that he

- doesn't use black in any widget-element
- that he uses colors which are very close to each other on the shadowed
  parts of the buttons.

The result: on some monitors (especially on notebooks!) and for some
people (not everyones eyes are that good) it will be quite hard to
see the buttons. Even worse: when you use screenshots of KDE in Windows:
Windows uses a gamma which is usually quite different from the one X11 is
using. You don't care? Well you should: screenshots in magazines do not
only
show up even more different than on monitors they are still being printed
using this OS. I only changed the gamma a little bit to 1.4 instead of
1.0
and this is the result:

as you can see (still depends on your monitor though) the color-shades
have
moved nearer to each other. On some screens it's close to impossible now
to
distinguish certain shades of grey.
So this style is not optimized for the various kinds of output at all.
I tried to fix this by changing both shades of grey to dark-grey and
something
very close to black for the buttons:

If mosfet could fix his style in regard to this
I wouldn't see any really serious reason that would prevent us from
choosing his B2-style for default (still the arrows could look better/more
elegant).

Sounds great :-)

BTW: As you might have noticed the screenshots show some new capabilities
of our new icon-engine: various iconeffects for different states
(here shown for the toolbars) and scalable icons (here shown for one of
our zoom-icons: exec.png).

Greetings,
Tackat \
