Subject:    kdelibs/kjs/Makefile.in not generated?

I'm having a strange problem - I just updated kdelibs,
did
 make -f Makefile.cvs; rm config.cache; ./configure
and even though kjs appears in the SUBDIRS list in 
kdelibs/Makefile.am and has a Makefile.am, no Makefile.in
is generated. Unfortunately, kdelibs/Makefile knows kjs 
is there, so it bombs when it gets to that directory.

Is there something else I have to delete in order for 
autoconf and automake to notice the new directory?
