The icon will be modified on the screen only!
If you should still use netscape or the internet-exploder
(I doubt both ...) you can see that the toolbar-icons change
while you move your pointer over the toolbar-buttons. The
Effects-dialog makes this thing configurable.

Yes, I'll change that to "Use of icons" -- would that be ok?

most important answer: if you use a small screen you really don't
want to use big main-toolbar-icons! You want all of your icons
to be 16x16!
Besides that: different users have different thoughts about
which icons should be most important. So every toolbar should
be able to go into main-toolbar-mode.

Well if you want to get rid of a theme on your harddisk ... what should
it do in your opinion then?

ok.

I think the proposed one is much better concerning usability
(I have updated the files since my last mail):
It hides the complex structure of the iconlibrary while giving him
the full power to choose every icon he wants.

KDE 1 showed that you will end up with a large
directory including hundreds of files. KDE 2 will have even more icons!
Remember: device- and filesystem- and mimetype- icons are about
70 icons IIRC so you will probably get lost if you hunt for an
application-icon
in that one big blooated directory. So one directory is not a good
idea imo -- but perhaps there are other solutions?
Greetings,
Torsten
