Hi Stephan,
Can you explain why this could cause inconsistency?

From the point of view of the user of the class, flexibility and access
is always good. From the point of view of the UI designer, a little
redundancy is good so long as it is not obnoxious. And from the
point of view of the users, it is an extra cue to remind them what
they are doing - that they didn't hit the Open or Save As... button,
or whatever.
