OK, I placed it in kdenonbeta. Usage:

1. Compile
2. Start knotify
3. Test it with knotifyclient. This program takes an event name as
   parameter. You can try these:
 
   Desktop1    : Pops up a message box
   Desktop2    : Pops up a message box AND prints to stderr
   Desktop3    : Prints to stderr
   Desktop4    : Is ignored
   foo         : Unknown event name. It will do an internal notification (which
                 I bound to a message box at the moment).
