I can reproduce it here (K6-233, Suse 6.1, KDE 1.1.2pre). The icon
gets black when you click on it, then Iīm thrown back into kdm. It
only seems to happen when the icons have a transparent background.

I think the problem is in KRootIcon::init() (kfm/roo.cpp), but I
donīt have time to try a fix right now.
