Is LightDM a canonical project? one that is covered by the license
agreement htat several high profile kde developers have refused to sign?
I remember the adventure with dbusmenu-qt, a canonical project, wasn't
too pleasant because of that.

From my personal view and as a packager, I would say "we only need *one*
display manager in the workspace". So, if lightdm comes, then KDM must
go in my opinion.
